Memories of That Place
I'm originally from a place with beautiful seasons that clearly mark the passage of time. Now I live in Austin, Texas, where it feels like the summer heat lasts a long time. Very long time. By the end of it, trees, plants, and humans alike are drained and dry. I miss the changing seasons; the colder nip in the air, the vibrant fall colors, the glitter of snowbanks on sunny days, the sensory calm when the body experiences white on the ground and in the sky. Memories of That Place is my series exploring the feeling that Nature's touch can invoke in body, mind, and spirit.
I created this piece using acrylic, graphite, silver leaf and cold wax on a 9x12 cradled Birch panel.
